About Huffey Homes, RE/MAX Revolution

Every home has a story. Here’s mine.

I’m Jason Huffey, a REALTOR with RE/MAX Revolution in the Des Moines metro. I help families sell and buy homes when life is changing: downsizing, settling an estate, starting over after a divorce, or buying a first home. My job is to make sure you always know what is happening and why.

I still walk a house like a tradesman.

01 / Where I come from

Tradesman first. Then twenty years in tech. Then real estate.

My first career was in the trades, as a telecom technician through an IBEW apprenticeship. By 2002 I owned my own company installing business phone systems and cabling. Then came about twenty years in telecom and cloud technology: I built a business phone platform from zero to 250 locations, led cloud products at Aureon, and as a Senior Principal Product Manager at Windstream owned collaboration platforms and helped one earn a place in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant two years running.

Now I bring all of it to real estate. What carries over from the trades is simple: you learn to look past the finish and read the work underneath it. Most of what makes a house worth buying is behind the drywall.

What carries over from tech is how I run your sale: like a product launch, with a plan, real data and no surprises. Every listing I take gets a weekly written report with real numbers, a property website with traffic you can see, and a pricing analysis built from more than one source.

02 / What life taught me

I know what it’s like to make house decisions while life is heavy.

I grew up in a family that went through divorce more than once, so I know what a house means when a family is changing. My wife and I have been married more than twenty five years, and we have each lost a parent. None of that is on a license, but all of it shows up when I sit at a kitchen table with a family who is selling a house that holds their story.

A home that is being downsized, settled in an estate, or divided in a divorce is more than a transaction. It’s a family’s memory, and sometimes it’s a knot that has to be untangled. Either way, it needs to be handled with care.

I also bring a money lens. I learned personal finance in the Dave Ramsey coaching tree, and I look at every sale on what you actually walk away with, not the headline price.

And legal complexity does not scare me. I recently closed a divorce sale with liens and judgments against it, owners who were not speaking, and no access for photos. It was headed for foreclosure. Working with every attorney involved, I got it closed.

03 / The Huffey family

Three Huffeys. Three ways of seeing a house.

Real estate has been part of my family for decades. Each of us sees a house differently, and the people we serve get the benefit of all three. Together, the Huffey family has closed more than 500 Des Moines-area home sales since 1990.

The investor

My uncle got his license after a purchase went badly, when he was talked into waiving an inspection. He has built a large rental portfolio since, and he has housed people coming out of prison and other hard seasons, so they could get back on their feet. His lesson is the one I still teach: skipping the inspection doesn’t make problems go away. It just means you’re the one who pays for them.

The builder

My cousin buys, renovates and resells homes, and he has personally done almost every kind of work a house needs, many times over. When Chris looks at a house, he sees what it will take to fix it and what it will cost. He represents buyers and sellers too, especially when a home needs a builder’s eye.

The advisor

When you work with me, I’m the one you’ll talk to. I bring the trades eye, the money lens, the systems and data discipline of twenty years leading technology products, and plain answers. The promises in writing are mine to keep, and I’m the one who checks in with you every week.

04 / What we believe

Real estate can build real freedom.

Everyone in my family has built wealth through real estate, each in a different way: rentals, renovation, and helping families make smart moves. We believe the freedom that wealth creates is worth working for, and that what we have is ultimately a gift from the Lord. We try to steward it well, and we try to help the people we serve do the same.

Every move closes one chapter and opens another. I believe in a God who redeems hard chapters through Christ, which is why I can say, and mean it, the best is yet to come.

Clarity beats speed. Calm beats reaction. And if something matters, I’ll tell you. If something doesn’t matter, I’ll tell you that too.

Huffey Homes serves everyone. Equal Housing Opportunity.
